It is the intention of the New York Prostate Institute to present a radiation therapy approach for understanding prostate cancer. All data presented in this web page follow an outline suggested in two recent publications on internet information.

This web site does not accept advertisement

The first of which is called the CREDIBLE mnemonic:
-Current and frequently updated
-References sited
-Explicit purpose and intention of the site
-Disclosure of sponsors
-Interest declared and no conflict of interest
-Balanced content
-Level of evidence sited

The second reference suggests watching for red flags of questionable information such as:
Are patient testimonials available? Is the treatment described as a CURE? Is the treatment described as having no side effects? Is online purchasing available?

Drs. Potters and Mullen are responsible for the design decisions and content on this web site. While comments are appreciated, all editorial decisions belong soley to the NYPI.

Dr. Potters has a consulting agreement with IMPAC Medical Systems, Inc, a developer of commercial software for the management of cancer, in general. Dr. Potters lectures frequently on prostate cancer and on rare occasions may (with disclosure) receive honorarium from various vendors of brachytherapy products.

The New York Prostate Institute is grateful to Bill Goodspeed and the staff at Catch24 Design for their assistance is designing and implementing this web site. Any comments, favorable or negative are appreciated.
